Maxime defended his PhD in 2012 at Université Montpellier 1 about heterotrimeric G-proteins and their activation motions by various molecular modelling techniques. He moved to Heidelberg as a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Pr. Frauke Gräter, at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies, where he worked on monitoring allostery in proteins from molecular dynamics simulations. After a second postdoc in the group of Dr. Bruno Villoutreix studying protein-drug interactions, he returned to Montpellier in 2017 where he joined the cellular pharmacology team at IBMM as an Assistant Professor. His main interests are the prediction of motions and interactions inside complex molecular systems such as GPCR and their intra- and extra-cellular partners. He teaches physical chemistry and biophysics at the faculty of pharmacy and medicine of Montpellier.
