Sylvie Peraldi-Roux, PhD

CNRS Research Director

Sylvie received her Ph.D in Neuroendocrinology in 1990 at the University of Montpellier. Her thesis work was performed at the Neuroendocrinology laboratory and was focused on the study of Ependymocytes markers of structure and function, in vivo and in vitro. In 1991-1993 she performed a postdoctoral training, first at the University of Pharmacy of Montpellier in the UMR-CNRS 9921 laboratory, and then at the Max-Planck Institut of Munchen in the group leader of A. Plückthun for developing the new technology of antibody engineering and phage display. Sylvie Peraldi-Roux was appointed as CNRS researcher in 1993, to study the genetic and epitopic repertoire of anti-thyroperoxidase autoantibodies in auto-immune thyroid diseases by Phage display technology. In 2006 she joined the Center for Pharmacology and Health Biotechnology in Montpellier as CNRS research (DR2) and focused her research on NOSs Inflammation and diabetogenic factors. She joined the IBMM in 2016. Her research is focused on the ghrelin / GHSR-1a system and aims to identify molecules targeting the GHSR-1a receptor capable of modulating the functionality of the pancreatic β cell, which could thus constitute potential therapeutic agents in prevention and / or treatment of DT2.
